“Boycott Maldives and go to Lakshadweep” The latest unofficial anthem of social media. And some companies have already seized this opportunity by promoting Lakshadweep as the patriotic choice, the wonders of capitalism.

Derogatory remarks against Indians and our Prime Minister were so bad, And we did stand up and made our voices heard. But is turning a beautiful island into a political battleground really the next move? It’s like the Avengers trying to save the world, only to accidentally wreak havoc in the process. It’s easy to get caught up in the hype, especially when everyone else is jumping on the bandwagon. But let’s take a step back and think about the bigger picture. As a country, we’re already struggling with the impact of over tourism. And on top of that, let’s not forget about the environmental consequences of this tourism frenzy. Climate change is giving our planet one hell of a summer, and over tourism is just throwing more fuel on the fire. So do we really want to turn Lakshadweep into the next tourist slum?
